VoiSistant — Privacy Policy

VoiSistant is a macOS application by TrendsLab that provides voice dictation, translation, AI chat, and text-to-speech. This Privacy Policy explains what data the app handles and how it is used.

1. Data We Do Not Collect
  • We do not collect personal information.
  • We do not create user accounts.
  • We do not track users across apps or websites.
  • We do not sell or share user data with third parties for advertising.
2. Data Processed by the App

The app processes audio and text locally to provide its features.

  • Microphone Audio: Your voice is captured to perform speech recognition. Audio is processed transiently and is not stored by default.
  • Speech Recognition: Converted text (STT) is used to complete your request and can be copied to the clipboard or inserted into apps per your action.
  • Text-to-Speech: Text you provide is synthesized into speech locally using Apple voices, or via providers you configure.
  • Clipboard: If you enable clipboard features, the app may read/write text to your system clipboard to deliver requested actions.
3. Subscriptions and Payments

VoiSistant offers optional Pro subscriptions processed entirely through Apple’s App Store.

  • We do not collect, store, or have access to your payment information.
  • All payment processing is handled by Apple. Your payment details are governed by Apple’s Privacy Policy.
  • We receive only a transaction confirmation from Apple to unlock Pro features — no personal financial data.
  • Subscription status is verified locally using Apple’s StoreKit framework.
4. Third-Party AI Providers (Optional)

You can optionally configure cloud or local AI providers (e.g., OpenAI, OpenRouter, Google Gemini, LM Studio, Ollama). When enabled, your prompts and text may be sent to the selected provider under their terms. API keys are stored securely in your macOS Keychain when possible.

  • You control which provider is used and when.
  • Requests are sent over encrypted connections (HTTPS) when using cloud providers.
  • Review each provider’s privacy policy before enabling it.
5. Analytics and Diagnostics
  • The app does not include third-party analytics.
  • Standard macOS crash reports may be generated by the system and managed by Apple if you have sharing enabled. We do not receive personally identifying information from these reports.
6. Permissions
  • Microphone: Required to capture your voice for speech recognition.
  • Speech Recognition: Required to convert your voice into text.
  • Network: Required only if you enable cloud AI providers or to verify subscription status. Local TTS works without network.
7. Data Storage
  • By default, the app does not store audio recordings.
  • Generated text can be copied or saved by you inside other apps; VoiSistant does not automatically upload or store your content.
  • API keys and minimal settings are stored locally on your device (Keychain or app preferences).
  • Subscription status is cached locally to provide offline access to Pro features.
8. Children’s Privacy

VoiSistant is intended for general audiences and does not knowingly collect personal data from children.

9. Security

We use the macOS Keychain for sensitive tokens where possible and transmit data to cloud providers over secure connections when enabled by you. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, but we aim to use reasonable safeguards.

10. Your Choices
  • Use the app entirely offline with local TTS and without cloud providers.
  • Enable only the providers you trust and remove API keys at any time.
  • Control clipboard usage inside the app settings or by not invoking clipboard actions.
  • Manage or cancel your subscription anytime in Apple ID Account Settings.
11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy as the app evolves. We will change the “Effective date” above when updates are published.
